Gateway Airline has announced the launch of new flight operations, effective Monday, 13 April 2026, as part of its strategy to enhance regional connectivity and provide more convenient travel options for passengers.
In a statement released in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, the airline’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to Governor Dapo Abiodun, Kayode Akinmade, said the new routes will connect Iperu with Abuja, Abuja with Port Harcourt, Abuja with Calabar, and Abuja with Jos. The expansion is intended to improve accessibility across Nigeria’s major cities and deliver efficient, reliable air travel services.
“This development marks a significant step in improving regional accessibility and delivering efficient, reliable air travel services to our valued passengers,” the statement read.
Gateway Airline has reiterated its commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer-focused service. The new routes are expected to strengthen domestic air travel networks, reduce travel times between key cities, and support economic and social links across the country.
The announcement follows a broader trend of Nigerian airlines expanding their networks to meet growing demand for domestic flights, particularly in underserved regions. By adding direct services between Abuja and cities such as Calabar and Jos, Gateway Airline aims to offer travellers faster, more convenient connections without the need for lengthy layovers.
The airline has urged passengers to book early to secure seats on the new routes and take advantage of introductory fares. Further details on flight schedules and ticketing are available through Gateway Airline’s official website and customer service channels.
