ADC Re-elects Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor as Ebonyi State Chairman

Ebonyi State’s African Democratic Congress (ADC) has reaffirmed its leadership by re-electing Mrs Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor as party chairman for a second four-year term. The election, held under a consensus arrangement, saw Adibe-Nwafor stand unopposed as delegates endorsed her continued leadership.

The state congress also elected key officials to support the new administration, including Okpara Emmanuel as Deputy Chairman, Udoma Victor Uduma as Vice Chairman South, Ebe Kingsley as Vice Chairman Central, Onyeka Urazi as Vice Chairman North, and Mgboroko Chukwudi N as State Secretary.

Electoral Committee Chairman Ebenyi Ikechukwu described the congress as a vital opportunity for party members to select credible leaders to guide the ADC in Ebonyi State over the next four years. The Electoral Committee Secretary, Nwafor Joseph, confirmed that out of 1,224 accredited delegates, 1,213 participated in the voting process.

Adibe-Nwafor, who was first elected in May 2022, explained that her initial term was due to end in May 2026. However, in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act requiring primaries to be conducted between April and May, the party opted to hold the congress earlier to ensure compliance and continuity.

She expressed gratitude to ADC members for their unwavering commitment and dedication, pledging to work towards strengthening the party’s position in Ebonyi State.

The re-election signals the ADC’s intent to maintain stability and unity as it prepares for future electoral contests in the region.
