Burna Boy’s Mother Bose Ogulu Prays Against Son’s Profane Claims

Burna Boy’s mother, Bose Ogulu, has publicly responded to her son’s use of profane language invoking her name during a recent livestream.

The controversy began when Burna Boy, in denying allegations of assaulting DJ Tunez, invoked his mother in a curse. The singer claimed during a livestream with Shallipopi that he alone had slapped DJ Tunez twice, swearing on his mother’s life that he was telling the truth. He added that if he were lying, may “Ogun” take his mother wherever Wizkid’s mother is.

The denial came after Wizkid had accused Burna Boy and his team of beating the DJ at a Lagos nightclub for failing to play his music. However, a viral video emerged showing Burna Boy and others kicking DJ Tunez while he was on the ground, contradicting Burna Boy’s account.

In response to her son’s statements, Bose Ogulu was captured in a video surrounded by Burna Boy’s crew members as they prayed against what they described as evil declarations. Speaking in Yoruba, she prayed, “Oloun ma je a remi kemi” (May God not let evil befall me).

The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many questioning the appropriateness of invoking family members in public disputes. The situation highlights ongoing tensions within Nigeria’s music industry and the potential consequences of public statements made by high-profile artists.

As the controversy continues to unfold, attention remains on how both artists and their teams will address the situation moving forward.
