Grammy announces date for 2027 awards nominations

The Recording Academy has set the calendar for the 2027 Grammy Awards, confirming key dates for submissions, nominations and the ceremony itself. During an upfront presentation in New York on Tuesday, the organization announced that the nomination slate will be released on 16 November 2026. Albums and singles released between 31 August 2025 and 28 August 2026 will be eligible for consideration.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for 7 February 2027 and will be broadcast live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. In a departure from a 54‑year relationship with CBS, the show will air on ABC and will also be streamed on Disney+ and Hulu, expanding its digital reach.

The Recording Academy highlighted the timeline on its official Instagram account, urging artists and industry professionals to mark the upcoming milestones for submissions, voting and other pre‑award events. The announcement signals a new chapter for the Grammys, aligning the ceremony with broader streaming audiences while maintaining its position as the music industry’s most prestigious accolade.

With the dates now fixed, record labels, artists and fans across Africa and the globe can plan their campaigns and anticipate the performances that traditionally define Music’s Biggest Night. The next steps will involve the opening of the submission portal, followed by the voting process that culminates in the live event in early February.
