Popular South African artist Costa Tsobanoglou, known professionally as Costa Titch, has died. The “Big Flexa” rapper collapsed while performing at the Ultra Music Festival in Johannesburg on Saturday. Video footage circulating online shows him falling during his set, being helped to his feet by his bodyguard, and then slipping again, after which he was carried offstage.

South African media personality Phil Mphela confirmed the news on Twitter late Saturday, writing: “RIP: Costa Titch. Nelspruit‑born artist and dancer, real name Costa Tsobanoglou, has passed away. He was 27.” Titch was celebrated for his contributions to the Amapiano genre, with hits such as “Big Flexa,” “Nkalakatha,” and “Activate.” He had recently signed a deal with Akon’s record label, Konvict Kulture.

His death marks another significant loss for the South African music industry, following the February shooting of his colleague Kiernan Forbes, known as AKA.
