A former Olympic canoeist who was arrested for allegedly tampering with the Reflecting Pool now faces a grand jury indictment in Washington, DC, Superior Court, multiple sources confirm.

David Hearn, who competed in the Olympics as a canoeist, was taken into custody by U.S. Park Police on June 19 on a misdemeanor charge of destruction of government property, as previously reported by USA TODAY.

The specific details of the charges remain unclear, according to CNN. Hearn’s attorney told the outlet he was unaware of the latest developments, noting that his client had previously received a citation for a misdemeanor offense.
