Guber election: INEC staff protest non-payment of allowances, stall polls in Bauchi

Some ad-hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Bauchi State protested non-payment of transport allowances on Saturday.

The protest delayed the early deployment of the election materials in the Bauchi Local Government Area of the state.

Despite collecting election materials, the staff stayed at Baba-Sidi Collation Centre.

But following the intervention of some senior INEC officials, the aggrieved ad-hoc staff received their payment, after which they departed at 9:15 am.
