Enugu guber: Bishop raises alarm over invasion of polling units by fake policemen

There is tension in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State over reported invasion of polling units in the area by fake policemen.

The development was confirmed Saturday morning by the Anglican Bishop of Eha-Amufu Diocese, Rt. Rev. Daniel Olinya.

The Bishop told journalists that Isi-Uzo was under siege by fake security agencies.

He disclosed that in the polling unit where he is supposed to vote, the situation was not different.

“When I got to my polling unit at Umuokpara, members of a particular political party were intimidating voters who they feel are not in support of their party. When I spoke, they shouted me down.

“I asked about the presence of policemen and a lady on bathroom slippers showed up. When I enquired about her ID card, she showed me a cap.

“This is the situation in all the polling units in Eha-Amufu; the police have refused to protect the ballot.

“We are calling on the Commissioner of Police to do something about this ugly situation,” Bishop Olinya said.
