Legal battles regarding the just concluded general elections are about to commence in Ondo State as nine petitions have been received by the Election Petition Tribunal in the state.

According to the Secretary of the Tribunal, Adam Musa, only the petitions for the National Assembly election held on February 25, have been received.

The Tribunal, he confirmed, is yet to receive petitions for the March 18 state House of Assembly election.

Of the petitions received so far, Musa said seven pertain to the House of Representatives while two are for the senatorial election.

Musa, who affirmed that the Tribunal would begin sitting as soon as the process of servicing ends, stressed that petitions must be submitted within 21 days of the date elections results are announced.
