The Osogbo Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association has described the appointment of four of its members in the service of the Osun State Government as Permanent Secretaries, as an honour to the Association.

In a statement signed by Hassan Agbelakale, and Dawood Ajetunmobi, the Chairman and Publicity Secretary of the Association respectively, made available to The , on Saturday, in Osogbo, NBA commended the outgoing Osun State governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, over the gesture.

The Association said the appointment of Oyesiku Adelu, Bukola Aderibigbe, Rafiu Popoola, and M. Obidiya, as Permanent Secretaries, was a recognition of legal practitioners’ contributions to the development of Osun through their respective ministries.

The statement further read in parts, “It is a novel thing. This is the first time in the history of  Osun State in the 30 years of her existence that such a number of lawyers who are in the public service will be promoted to permanent secretaries. The honour is not for the appointees alone, but also for all of us at NBA, Osogbo.

“It is recognition of sterling performances and dedications to duties of the appointees. The appointments are no less deserved and meritorious, not only because of the length of years the appointees have invested in the service of the State Government but also the expertise that the appointees have brought to bear on the quality service delivery to the public service in our State. Whoever has worked must reap the fruit of his labour. The appointments into the offices of permanent secretaries are no exception.”

“While congratulating the appointees on their promotions to the exalted offices of PS and for making  NBA Osogbo proud, the release also charges them to see the appointments as a call to higher service and responsibilities, urging the new appointees to go and make huge waves in their new positions for the  benefits of Osun State and her people.”
