EPL: I’m very sorry – Son Heung-Min apologizes to Conte

Tottenham Hotspur forward, Son Heung-min, has apologised to manager Antonio Conte over his exit from the club.

Tottenham had on Sunday confirmed Conte’s departure ‘by mutual consent’.

Spurs immediately appointed Cristian Stellini as caretaker manager until the end of the season.

Before Conte’s exit from Tottenham, the Italian had hit out at the club’s players, including Heung-min, branding them ‘selfish’ and not wanting to ‘play under pressure.’

Heung-min, subsequently, has issued an apology to the former Chelsea and Inter Milan coach for his contribution this season.

“I’m very sorry to him as a player,” the South Korea international said on Tuesday, as quoted by Metro UK.

“I should’ve shown better sides of me to him and helped the team out more, but I was not able to.

“Because of that, he ultimately had to shoulder responsibility by leaving, and I feel very responsible for it.

“Because he has the ability and experience, he’ll obtain good results wherever he goes in the next chapter of his journey, and I’ll, of course, support him.”
