Tinubu’s patriotism, courage befitting of president – APC govs

The Progressive Governors Forum on Wednesday paid a glowing tribute to the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, saying they found his courage, zeal, and patriotism resonating at a time when the country needs a revival.

The tribute, which was contained in a congratulatory message issued in Abuja by PGF Chairman and Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, was to fete the former governor of Lagos State on his 71st birthday.

The statement read, “The Progressive Governor’s Forum joins millions of Nigerians and other well-wishers in congratulating our leader, President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his 71st birthday. We wish you a happy birthday as well as a multitude more in the future.

“This year’s birthday is coming shortly after Nigerians have freely and enthusiastically mandated you to lead our country. Your patriotism, nationalism, boldness, and courage have been acknowledged by the majority. It is a befitting birthday tribute that you are Nigeria’s next president, and even while you are taking some much-needed time to reflect on all that needs to be done, your vision of a Nigeria that shall take its place of pride among the comity of nations is resonating with all.”

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, participated in a thanksgiving service for the President-elect.

The event was held at the Chapel of Christ the Light while another service was held at the Secretariat Community Central Mosque, both in Alausa, Ikeja, the state capital, while others were held in the central mosques in the Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos, and Epe areas of the state.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile.

Sanwo-Olu, who was represented at one of the events by the deputy governor, was quoted as saying, “Asiwaju himself is very grateful to Almighty Allah for what He has done for him. My prayer for him is for Allah to be with him and to guide him to achieve those things he desires for this country.

Similarly, the APC Anambra State chapter also congratulated the President-elect.

In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Okelo Madukaife, the party said the moment signals a new life, new wisdom, a new idea, and a new era in Nigeria.
