FG declares Friday, Monday public holidays for Easter celebrations

The Federal Government has announced that Friday, 7 and Monday, 10, April 2023 will be public holidays to mark the Easter celebrations this year.

This was confirmed in a statement released by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, in Abuja.

The statement signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Shuaib Begore urged Christians to emulate the attributes of Jesus Christ, which were exemplified by His ministry on the earth.

Aregbesola called on Christians to pray for an end to the security challenges in parts of the country as they celebrate Easter.

While wishing Christians at home and in the Diaspora a happy and peaceful Easter celebration, he enjoined them to love their neighbours through acts of kindness and generosity of spirit, with the well-to-do sharing their substance with the less privileged around them.
