Serie A: Your talent, strength hurt them – Drogba sends message to Chelsea’s Lukaku

Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba, has sent a message to Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku, after the Belgium international was subjected to racist chanting from a section of Juventus fans in Tuesday’s Coppa Italia semi-final first-leg tie.

Drogba said that Lukaku’s talent and strength hurt the Juventus fans.

Lukaku, who currently plays for Inter Milan on loan from Chelsea, was subbed on in the 69th minute in Turin.

The former Manchester United and Everton star scored a stoppage-time penalty to cancel out Juventus winger, Juan Cuadrado’s opener just a few minutes earlier as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

After scoring his penalty, Lukaku put a finger to his lips to silence the home crowd and was shockingly shown a second yellow card for ‘excessive celebrating’.

Speaking on the development, Drogba, in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Wednesday, wrote: “When your talent and strength starts hurting them and you’re becoming bigger and better, their stupidity arises @romelulukaku.”
