Dennis linked with Watford return

Having just joined Nottingham Forest last summer following their promotion to the English Premier League, Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis has been linked with a move away from the club, with a return to Watford likely.

According to The Mirror, via Football League World, Forest are keen on signing Watford’s Ismaila Sarr in a possible deal that could see Dennis head the other way.

The 24-year-old Senegalese has shone for both club and country this season, making a real impact for Senegal at the World Cup, starting all their games in Qatar and was on the scoresheet in a 2-1 win over Ecuador in the group stage.

Dennis, who was the Hornets best player last season, has not been able to replicate his form for his new side, scoring just one goal in 13 appearances across all competitions and has been placed on the transfer market.

The striker’s appearances for the East Midlands club have totalled less than 500 minutes and he is thought to be frustrated at his lack of opportunities.

With a move to another English side impossible, having played for Forest and Watford this season, Dennis could be heading back to Vicarage Road if both clubs agreed on a deal.

Dennis made 37 appearances for Watford last season, scoring 10 times and providing six assists.
