IGP orders posting, redeployment of AIGs

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba has ordered the posting and redeployment of Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) to Departments, Commands, and Formations across the country.

Media Talk Africa learnt the development was in line with the IGP’s manpower development policy of fitting the right persons into appropriate roles.

A statement by the Police said, ”In pursuant to the strategic policy, the following senior police officers are posted and redeployed; AIGs Zone 14 Katsina -AIG Ahmed Abdulrahman, Police Mobile Force – AIG Ibrahim Sani Ka’oje, mni, Special Protection Unit – AIG.Matthew Akinyosola, mni, Zone 12 Bauchi-AIG Sylvester Abiodun Alabi, fdc, Maritime Lagos- AIG Yekini Adio Ayoku, psc(+), mni, Zone 13 Ukpo Dunukofia – AIG Olofu Tony Adejoh, Zone 7 Abuja-AIG Aliyu Garba, ICT FHQ Abuja-AIG Idris Dabban Dauda, fdc, Research & Development – AIG Yusuf Ahmed Usman, Zone 4 Makurdi – AIG Haladu M. Ros-Amson, fdc, Zone 8 Lokoja-AIG Babatunde B. Ishola, Counter Terrorism Unit – AIG Alexander N. Wannang and Zone 2 Lagos -AIG Ari M. Ali.

Others are ”Zone 9 Umuahia-AIG Mamman Sanda Umar, fdc, Commandant Police Academy, Wudil – AIG Sadiq I. Abubakar, mni, FCID Annex Lagos – AIG Frank Emeka Mba, mni, Zone 16 Yenagoa – AIG Benjamin N. Okolo, fdc, DTD FHQ Abuja – AIG Oyediran A. Oyeyemi, fsi, FCID Annex Kaduna – AIG Babaji Sunday, Zone 5 Benin – AIG Arungwa Nwazue Udo, mni and Force Transport Officer – AIG Yusuf C. Usman, mni.

FPRO, CSP, Olumuyiwa Adejobi who disclosed this in Abuja said the posting was with immediate effect and, all newly posted and redeployed officers were charged to put their best foot forward in ensuring that the activities of their new Commands, Formations, and Departments align with the Police Reform mandate.
