Again, Buhari expresses admiration for Borno Gov Zulum

President Muhammadu Buhari has again expressed his admiration for the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum.

The Nigerian leader spoke at the weekend when he received the outgoing Rwanda High Commissioner, Stanislas Kamanzi.

The President congratulated the diplomat on his successful tour of duty, recalling issues and the substantial progress made in the Nigeria-Rwanda relationship.

They discussed bilateral accomplishments on aviation, with Rwanda Airlines operating eight weekly flights to Lagos and five to Abuja.

An agreement on Nigeria-Rwanda Joint Commission has been signed and will soon be inaugurated.

Buhari noted the coincidence of Kamanzi and himself coming in eight years ago and leaving at about the same time.

“You saw us come in, and you are about to see us leaving. When we came, the Northeast was a big problem.

“Lake Chad was much affected by climate change, and the neighboring regions were experiencing turbulence.

“We are pleased with the progress made in normalizing the situation. There is a very active governor in Borno State,” he said.

The outgoing High Commissioner thanked Nigerian government officials for creating a true spirit of mutual cooperation.

In a message to Zulum on his birthday last year, Buhari described him as a role model others should copy.
