PSC clears air on bribery allegations, warns against fictitious claims

The Police Service Commission, (PSC), said it does not sell promotions in the Nigeria Police Force and will not start now when a deliberate effort is being made to reposition and reinvigorate the Force.

The Commission disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday while reacting to allegations labelled against it.

The statement said the Commission has not formally received any petition or complaint on bribery for promotion from one Mr.Chijioke Okonkwo who posted and signed off on behalf of other Officers.

It said the personnel claimed he is a serving Police Officer but did not indicate his rank.

The Commission asked anyone with evidence of the allegations to urgently forward it to the Commission.

It also warned that it will not tolerate fictitious media claims as personnel of the Police should be conversant with approved channels of communication to air grievances.
