San Francisco police on Thursday arrested a man, Nima Momeni, in connection with the murder of CashApp founder Bob Lee.
The American businessman bled to death after he was stabbed in the wee hours of April 4th in Rincon Hill neighbourhood.
The 38-year-old suspect, identified as a resident in the Bay Area city of Emeryville, was booked on suspicion of murder at 9:19 am.
Mission Local first reported the arrest of Momeni, an information technology consultant and entrepreneur the deceased knew.
In a Twitter post, San Francisco Board of Supervisors member Matt Dorsey commended the police department for their work.
“I’m grateful to SFPD’s homicide detail and all the officers for their tireless work to Bring Bob Lee’s killer to justice and for their arrest of a suspect this morning,” he tweeted.
The late 44-year-old software engineer was the former Chief Technology Officer of Square, who helped launch Cash App in 2013.
In 2021, he joined cryptocurrency and digital payments startup MobileCoin as Chief Product Officer. He was also the Chief Technology Officer of Block.
