Serie A: Dessers scores winner in Cremonese 1-0 win against Empoli

Cyriel Dessers scored the decisive goal as Cremonese continued their fight against relegation following a 1-0 win against Empoli on Friday night.

The hosts got off to a flying start with Dessers netting the decisive goal after four minutes.

The 28-year-old deftly controlled Leonardo Sernicola’s long ball before smashing past Samuele Perisan.

It was the Nigeria international’s sixth goal in 24 league outings for the Lombardy outfit this season.

Dessers was replaced by his compatriot David Okereke on 67 minutes.

U.S. Cremonese remains in 19th position with 19 points from 30 matches.
