EPL: He’ll mess up the equilibrium – Wright on Haaland playing for Arsenal

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has said that he is not convinced a striker in the mould of Erling Haaland would make the Gunners better.

Haaland has scored 47 goals in 40 appearances for Manchester City in all competitions.

The Norwegian has helped the Citizens reduce the gap between them and Arsenal to just four points following the Gunners’ 2-2 draw with West Ham on Sunday.

Arsenal’s goals are divided among different players: Gabriel Martinelli (14), Bukayo Saka (13) and Martin Odegaard (11).
Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nektiah have nine each.

Wright believed that someone like the Norwegian could ‘mess up the equilibrium’ in the Gunners’ attack.

He said: “I believe that when you are able to spread the goals around, people can’t plan for it.

“But would I change what we’re doing for somebody who’s scoring goals like that? I don’t know.

“It may mess up the equilibrium of what’s going on. I’m not sure.”
