Olumba Obu invites Igbo nation to emancipation, spiritual repositioning session

Following incessant complaints about alleged marginalisation by the Igbo, influential spiritual leader and founder of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu has invited leaders of the Igbo nation to a special meeting in Calabar.

The complaints resonated after the presidential election where an Igbo son, Peter Obi, is thought to have performed well but for results from polling units that were allegedly suppressed.

A statement released by the office of the organisation’s spokesperson on Saturday night confirmed that the spiritual leader has scheduled the special meeting for May 14 at his headquarters on Ambo Street, Calabar.

Part of the statement reads: “The Holy Father, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu has officially called on the entire Igbo race for an ‘Emancipation and Spiritual Repositioning Special Session’ with him on Saturday, 22nd April 2023.”

The spiritual leader was quoted to have remarked about the special meeting when he gave his farewell message to mark the end of the Easter Pentecostal Convention of the spiritual organisation.

He reportedly proclaimed: “The worries of the Igbo Nation have gotten to the throne of God and it is time to turn things around for all children of Igboland which is the reason for this special invitation.”

According to the statement, all children of God in Igboland, including the faithful and non-adherents, were encouraged to attend the meeting.

Many postulated that the meeting with the spiritual leader could assist Igbos chart better courses.
