South-South Christian should produce next Senate President – Bashir El-Rufai

A son of the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Bashir, has suggested the region and religion that should produce Nigeria’s next Senate President.

Bashir said a Christian from the South-south should emerge as the next Senate President.

Tweeting, Bashir wrote: “I personally feel the next President of the Nigerian Senate should be a Christian man or woman, preferably from the South-South region. Man proposes. Allah disposes.”

Following the victory of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, in the last election, the agitation has shifted to who becomes the next Senate President.

Relevant stakeholders from the Southeast have been agitating for the region to produce Nigeria’s next Senate President.

They anchored their call on the fact that the Southeast missed out on the presidency, hence the region should produce the Senate President.

However, the Northwest has been pinned down as one of the regions to produce the number three man of the nation.
