EPL: Man City’s midfielder told to leave Pep Guardiola’s team

Former Premier League star Darren Bent has told Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips to leave the club for Liverpool.

Phillips has struggled to cement a place in Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City team since his move from Leeds.

He is currently being linked with a move to Liverpool this summer.

And former striker Bent said: “It makes a lot of sense because he’s a good player.

“This is going to sound bonkers, but he’s gone to Man City and it’s like his career has gone backwards.

“He’s gone from playing with England, playing with Leeds, playing every single week well to get him the move to City.

“But he’s just not played.”
