Alleged defamation of Jigawa governor: Court remands APC ex-chairman

A Jigawa State Magistrate court sitting in Dutse, on Thursday, ordered the remand of a former state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Habibu Sani Sara and Habu Karami Jahun in Dutse correctional center.

Magistrate Auwal Sani Balago gave the order that the suspects be remanded till Monday May 8, for the continuation of hearing in the case against them.

They were arraigned on three counts bordering on conspiracy and defamation of character.

Media Talk Africa reported that the former Jigawa State APC chairman, Alhaji Habibu Sani Sara and one other party supporter were arrested by the police.

They were detained following a complaint from Malam Habibu Ringim, a Special Adviser to the Jigawa Governor on Media Content.

He accused them of attacking Governor Badaru’s personality during a radio programme.
