Chris Mba: Buhari mourns music icon

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday reacted to the death of Chris Mba, one of the icons of Nigerian highlife music.

Buhari extended his deepest condolences to the family, friends of Mba, whose works brought excitement to many households and his admirers in social and corporate functions.

In paying tribute to Mba, Buhari recognizes the contributions of the artist to the growth of the Nigerian music and entertainment industry, a feat recognized and celebrated by his colleagues in the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN) and the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON).

This was disclosed in a statement by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President.

Buhari, however, prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of Mba, and comfort for those who mourn.
