Programme of events for inauguration in circulation fake – Transition committee

The Presidential Transition Council has disowned the fake programme of events for the handover ceremony to the president-elect, Bola Tinubu currently in circulation on social media.

This is as the Chairman of the Council and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, disclosed that preparation for the event had reached an advanced stage.

A statement on Saturday by the Director, Information, Office of the Secretary General of the Federation, Willie Bassey, said the activities of the events would be made known to the public on Thursday.

It partly read, “The Presidential Transition Council disowns the fake programme of events currently in circulation on social media.

The Inauguration Committee of the PTC has reached advanced stages in its preparation for the peaceful and orderly transfer of power on May 29, 2023.

He added that various approved events would be held from the week commencing Monday, May 22, 2023.

“The approved programme of events would be unveiled at a World Press Conference scheduled for Thursday, May 18, 2023.”

He, however, cautioned the purveyors of fake news to desist from peddling falsehood in an attempt to mislead the unsuspecting public.
