‘From Nigeria to World’s History Books’ – Drogba praises Osimhen

Ivory Coast and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has lauded prolific striker Victor Osimhen for leading Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years.

Taking to his Twitter handle to celebrate the Nigerian who scored the goal that sealed the Azzurri’s scudetto win, Drogba praised Osimhen’s resilience that has seen him come this far in his career.

He said the 24-year-old has written his name in the world’s history books by inspiring Napoli’s first scudetto since the Diego Maradona era.

He also congratulated Napoli for finally ending the dominance of the northern clubs in Italian football.

Drogba wrote: “Indeed, Capo @victorosimhen9 from the streets of Nigeria to the World’s History books.

Congratulations my brother, to you and your Club @en_sscnapoli.”

Replying, Osimhen tweeted, “Thank you, LEGEND.”

Osimhen has said in several interviews that Drogba was his childhood hero.
