EPL: Awoniyi demands more belief after his double boosts Forest survival

Nottingham Forest forward, Taiwo Awoniyi has urged the club’s fans to keep believing in the team after his goals helped them beat fellow strugglers Southampton 4-3 on Monday night.

Awoniyi netted his first brace in the Premier League for Forest who boosted their survival hopes with a remarkable victory.

The Nigeria international was on target in the 18th and 21st minute respectively.

Interestingly, the forward’s last goal before this double was against Southampton in January.

Awoniyi sustained an injury in the game which kept him out for a few months.

Forest moved out of the relegation zone following the win.

“Thanks for supporting all of us. Keep belief in. You Reds!” The striker tasked the team’s fans after the win against Southampton at the City Ground.

Steve Cooper’s side will face Chelsea in their next Premier League game.
