Again, suspected Fulani militia kills in Zangon Kataf

Suspected Fulani militias on Tuesday attacked Runji village in Atyap Chiefdom of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing a member of the village identified as Danladi Duduk.

A community leader in Runji, Koniyan Ben, confirmed to Media Talk Africa that the fresh attack carried out in the afternoon resulted in the murder of the victim, whose residence was close to the Anglican Church in the community.

Media Talk Africa recalls that the same Runji village was attacked three weeks ago by suspected Fulani militia that killed at least 33 people and destroyed 40 houses.

Ben told Media Talk Africa: “The assailants came through the cover of herds of cattle some few minutes after 2 pm and started firing shots using sophisticated guns, including a revolver machine gun, which scared away all people in the community.

“The attack took only a few minutes after which the assailants rushed back in the direction of Zango Urban, using the cows as a cover-up, and ran away.”
