Justice of the Peace orders housewife to comb courtroom premises for 21 days

A Makurdi Magistrates’ Courtroom on Friday ordered a housewife, Doosu Samuel, to comb the premises of the courtroom for 21 days for pouring scorching water on a 15-year-old woman.

The police charged Samuel who lives at Brand 1, Makurdi with inflicting grievous harm punishable beneath part 248 of the penal code legal guidelines of Benue, 2004.

Samuel who pleaded responsible to the cost.

Justice of the Peace Kelvin Banongo in his ruling condemned the act of the convict.

He ordered the convict to wash the premises from 10a.m to midday with impact from Friday to June 5, each day besides on Sundays.

The Justice of the Peace additional ordered the courtroom registrar to contact the officers of the Correctional Centre, Makurdi for supervision.
