Police spokesperson reacts to Seun Kuti’s physical assault on policeman

The recent viral video of afrobeat artist, Seun Kuti assaulting a police officer on duty has sparked a lot of reactions from Nigerians, including the Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

According to reports from Media Talk Africa, Seun Kuti took to his Instastory to claim that he slapped the officer because he was trying to kill him and his family members.

In response, the police spokesperson expressed his disbelief on Twitter, stating that the incident was “unbelievable.” He further stated that such occurrences serve as lessons for people and promised to release an official statement soon.

Quoting a tweet from a concerned citizen drawing his attention to the incident, Adejobi addressed the matter, saying, “Seun’s Attack: The NPF will speak to this incident very soon. It’s unbelievable, but such happens for people to learn lessons. We shall be back.”

Meanwhile, reactions from Nigerians have continued to pour in, with some calling for Seun Kuti to be held accountable for his actions, as no one is above the law regardless of their social status.

The incident has further raised concerns about the relationship between law enforcement agents and citizens in Nigeria, especially considering the recent #EndSARS protests and allegations of police brutality.

As the police spokesperson said, let us hope that such incidents will serve as lessons for all parties involved to promote better relations between citizens and law enforcement officers.
