The head coach of Bayelsa United, Tiebowei Diepreye, has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to avoid relegation this season in the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).
Currently, the Restoration Boys sit in eighth place on the Group B table with 18 points.
Bayelsa United’s final league match of the season will be against Niger Tornadoes at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa. Coach Diepreye has stated that the team will play for victory in front of their home crowd.
“We are very hopeful of maintaining our Premier League status,” he told Media Talk Africa. “We are going to play for victory against Niger Tornadoes to put a smile on the faces of our fans.”
A win for Bayelsa United would guarantee their safety in the NPFL, and Diepreye believes that his team has what it takes to achieve that objective.
This is a crucial match for Bayelsa United as a loss or draw could potentially drag them into the relegation zone depending on the results of other teams.
Overall, however, Bayelsa United seems to be in good form, having won three of their last five matches. Despite the pressure and stakes in their forthcoming game, it’s clear that the team is gearing up for the challenge and is motivated to secure their place in the Premier League.
