Guinness World Records may delay verifying Hilda-Baci’s record, says Kaffy

Renowned Nigerian dancer and Guinness World Record holder Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau, popularly known as Kaffy, has disclosed the reason for the delay in verifying the record set by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Guinness World Records had revealed on Monday that it would carry out reviews before acknowledging Hilda Baci’s record.

Speaking on the issue of delayed verification, Kaffy expressed concerns that technical errors could be responsible for people not getting verified by Guinness World Records. She cited her own experience when she set a Guinness World Record for the “Longest Dance Party” in 2006, as it took nearly two weeks for the verification team to confirm her achievement.

In a social media post, Kaffy said: “A lot of people attempt and succeed in beating timelines but don’t get verified because of technical errors.” She also expressed her fear that Hilda’s attempt could be affected by technical issues, and prayed that it would not be the case.
