Hilda Baci, also known as Miss Hilda Effiong Bassey, broke the Guinness World Record for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual” by cooking for 96 hours. Her feat was celebrated by Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, and the governor-elect, Pastor Umo Eno.
The previous record was set by Chef Lata Tondon from India, who cooked for 87 hours and 45 minutes. Baci surpassed this by nearly 9 hours, setting a new world record and becoming the first person to spend such a long time cooking.
Governor Emmanuel, through his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, congratulated Baci for exemplifying the state’s “Dakkada” philosophy, which emphasizes the determination to achieve the impossible. He also praised her for showcasing Akwa Ibom’s culinary skills and cuisine, promising to host her soon.
In the same vein, Governor-elect Pastor Umo Eno commended Baci for making the state proud and breaking boundaries. He emphasized the state’s commitment to promoting tourism and celebrates the achievement of its citizens.
