Manchester United set to part ways with Phil Jones – Fabrizio Romano confirms

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Phil Jones, another Manchester United player, will be leaving the club at the end of the season. Romano made the announcement on his Twitter account on Tuesday.

Jones, a centre-back, will be departing as a free agent as he seeks new opportunities for his career. Romano also confirmed that Axel Tuanzebe, another player of Manchester United, will also be leaving the club at the end of the season.

This news comes after Romano confirmed on Monday that Tuanzebe would be leaving the club. Manchester United has not officially announced either of these departures yet.

Despite joining Manchester United back in 2011, Jones has struggled with injuries throughout his career and has only featured in two Premier League games since the 2019/20 season. It is likely that the defender will seek a fresh start elsewhere, with a number of clubs reportedly interested in his services.

As Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side rebuilds for next season, it seems that Jones and Tuanzebe will not be a part of the team. The departures of these two players will open up opportunities for new signings, as Manchester United aims to strengthen their squad and improve on their second-place finish in the Premier League this season.
