10th National Assembly: Biafra Agitator Warns Southeast Senators Against Playing Ethnic Card

In what is becoming an increasingly heated political race for the leadership of the 10th National Assembly, Simon Ekpa, a popular Biafra agitator and separatist, has warned Southeast Senators-elect against playing the ethnic card to gain power. Ekpa, the self-styled Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, cautioned returning and senators-elect in a statement on Tuesday.

Ekpa, who is a lawyer based in Finland, warned the Southeast Senators to avoid sowing seeds of ethnic disunity in the region, stating, “We want to warn the Southeast Senators led by their spokesperson, Hon. Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah, to desist from sowing the seeds and cards of ethnicity in the Eastern Region because we are one people – We are Biafrans. There will be no restiveness if your caucus does not win the Senate presidency because we will never fight for your selfish ambitions”.

In his statement, Ekpa drew attention to the Senators’ apparent lack of support for the Biafran movement and their greed and selfishness in the struggle for power. He condemned the Senators for not supporting one of their own, Peter Obi, when he ran for Vice President of Nigeria, despite their calls for a president of Igbo extraction. He also expressed disappointment that these same Senators endorsed the recent controversial presidential election and appointed Bola Tinubu as president-elect.

Ekpa, however, declared that the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile was not interested in Nigeria’s politics, stating, “If Senator Godswill Akpabio is the favourite of the 10th Assembly of the NASS to become the Senate president, so be it. We are not interested in Nigeria’s politics of who becomes what. However, we shall not let you divide us further for your selfish ambitions inside One-Nigeria. We are Biafrans, committed and determined to exit Nigeria this year.”

Apart from his warning to Southeast Senators, Ekpa was also recently crowned “Agu N’eche Mba-1” of Biafra Land by Biafra Monarchs. This title honors his appointment as the Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government In Exile.

In conclusion, the statement from Simon Ekpa is a call to Southeast Senators to put the interests of their people above their selfish ambitions, especially in the face of an increasingly divided political climate in Nigeria.
