The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has added a new wife to his household. Olori Opeoluwa Elizabeth Akinmuda has been welcomed to the esteemed Ife Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

According to reports circulating online, the palace has sent invitations to relatives and dignitaries for the wedding thanksgiving service and reception of the new queen, set to take place on Saturday, May 20, 2023. A traditional entry of the Queen into the palace will precede the event, signifying her integration into the royal household.

This marks the sixth marriage for the Ooni of Ife, with his previous marriage to Princess Temitope Adesegun taking place recently, in a private ceremony held in Lagos.

During the upcoming ceremony, Olori Opeoluwa Elizabeth Akinmuda will be officially welcomed by the royal guards, palace chiefs, and royal staff, representing the Yoruba monarch.

The sequence of marriages began on September 6, 2022, when the Ooni of Ife tied the knot with Mariam Anako, from the Ebira tribe in Kogi State. The next day, September 7, 2022, Opeoluwa Elizabeth Akinmuda, an indigene of Ondo, became his second wife.

On October 9, 2022, the monarch entered into matrimony with Tobi Phillips, a native of Okitipupa in Ondo State, as his third wife. A few days later, Ashley Afolashade Adegoke, an Ile-Ife princess, became his fourth wife on October 14, 2022.

The fifth wife, Ronke Ademiluyi, another Ile-Ife princess, followed on October 20, 2022, while Asake Temitope Morenike Adesegun concluded the sequence by becoming the monarch’s sixth wife on October 24, 2022.
