Recently, Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, which was set by the Indian chef, Lata Tandon. As Guinness World Record reviews Hilda’s 100-hour kitchen stint, Lata Tandon has urged Nigerians, as well as her compatriots, to maintain peace and avoid competition in regards to the record.
There have been reports of Nigerians lambasting and threatening Hilda Baci to give up the record.
Reacting to this in a statement on her Instastory, Lata Tandon insisted that the competition was just a record, and there was no need to make it a competition. Tandon, who holds the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, advised that everyone should wait patiently for Guinness to officially announce if the current record has been broken or not.
“A humble request to all my sisters and brothers in Nigeria and India to maintain peace and wait for Guinness to officially announce if the current record is broken or not. Please don’t make it a competition, it’s just a record my friends. I’m a peace-loving individual, and I wish the same for you.” Lata Tandon wrote.
