Kayode Fayemi Declines EFCC Invitation Citing Prior Engagements

The former Governor of Ekiti State and current Minister of Solid Minerals, Kayode Fayemi, has declined an invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to clarify issues regarding a money laundering investigation.

The EFCC sent the invitation letter on May 12th, 2023, requesting Fayemi’s presence for an interview on May 18th, 2023. However, Fayemi, through his legal representatives, responded by stating that he would not be available on that particular day due to prior engagements.

According to Fayemi, he had arranged to present and launch two new books in honour of President Muhammadu Buhari, and thus could not honour the EFCC invitation on the same day.
