TAMPAN President, Mr Latin, Explains Why Some Ailing Actors Won’t Be Helped

During a recent interview on 32FM in Ibadan, Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin and the President of the Theatre Arts and Movies Production Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), revealed that the group won’t be able to help some ailing actors in the movie industry.

Mr Latin disclosed that TAMPAN has spent over N10 million on health issues facing actors and is always ready to assist active members. However, some ailing actors have not been helped because they are inactive members who feel ashamed to ask for help directly. Instead, they seek help on the internet, radio, or television.

“The ones you see going on radio or TV to beg for money are not active members of the association,” Mr Latin explained.

While TAMPAN has helped several ailing actors in the past, the group can only offer assistance to active members. The association hopes that these inactive members will actively participate in the group’s activities, enabling them to gain access to available resources.

It is imperative for actors to join associations like TAMPAN and be active members.

In conclusion, TAMPAN’s president, Mr Latin, has made it clear that the association is always willing to help its active members but cannot help ailing actors who are not part of the association. Joining associations like TAMPAN and being an active member is essential in receiving assistance when actors face health challenges.
