During a roundtable meeting in Abuja organised by the World Bank, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, has called on all Nigerians to support the incoming government of President-elect, Bola Tinubu, slated to take office on May 29. The Sultan acknowledged that there may be varying opinions regarding the incoming government, but he urged Nigerians to contribute to its stability and progress. He emphasised the need for unity, equity and justice, stating that these are the cardinal pillars for a successful administration.
As Nigeria prepares for a new government, the Sultan stressed that prayers alone will not be enough to ensure its success; all citizens must play their part. His comments suggest that he believes all Nigerians should support the incoming government to ensure that it succeeds in delivering on its promises. According to the Sultan, Nigerians must ask themselves: “what can we do to help the government stabilise and move the country forward?”
The Sultan’s call to action is particularly significant ahead of the inauguration of the new government on May 29. He noted that change is inevitable, and urged all Nigerians to work together towards a brighter future.
