The Foreign Investment Network, FIN, in collaboration with Forbes, will on Friday, confer the Forbes Best of Africa Award on the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, Inuwa Kashiwu, and other personalities.
According to the statement, the governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun; the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado-Bayero; and the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Buba Marwa, will also receive the awards.
The statement added that Mr Abiodun would receive the Forbes Best of Africa Governor of the Industrial Revolution, while Mr Ado-Bayero will be honoured with the Most Outstanding Traditional Ruler Award.
Mr Marwa, on the other hand, will receive the Health Safety Award of Excellence,.
The statement said that FIN, in partnership with Forbes, has for decades identified emerging economies in Africa seeking investors and exposed those investment gaps to Forbes billionaires and international investors.
While throwing more light on the event, which would take place during a virtual symposium with the title “Leadership and Investment,” Mrs Fayomi disclosed that Mark Furlong, President of Forbes’ Best of Africa, custom would personally hand over the awards to the recipients.
She said: “Over the years, Foreign Investment Network has worked together with Forbes Best of Africa to attract quality foreign direct investment ,FDI, in Oil and gas, aviation, agriculture, health care, education, and infrastructure to the continent of Africa.
“The Forum will also discuss how development and investments can be utilized as a mechanism to accelerate the emergence of an inclusive and innovative society.”
Mrs Olayinka further explained that the Forbes Award is exclusively conferred on individuals and corporate organizations with a distinguishing touch of excellency in their various endeavours.
According to her, the event will serve as a launching pad for the international business community to explore investment opportunities in Africa and other emerging markets.
“It will stimulate wider investment exchange between countries/organizations towards a prosperous Africa and also serve as a platform for states to build partnerships, foster business relationships, improve financial inclusion, strength local currencies, improve global financial operations, and create balanced economic policies”.
Other recipients include: Chidubem Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Deputy Chief Whip of the Federal House of Representatives, who will be conferred with the Forbes Best of Africa Excellent Service Award, Christopher Irene-Imumolen, the president of the American Institute of Certified Professionals, will receive the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award.
The statement further stressed that the volatile economic situation and dysfunctional economic policies in Africa have often discouraged several investors from looking towards the continent.

“We have over the years carved a strategy that has assisted our clients understand the fragile nature of democracy in Africa. We have developed a system that builds a buffer around their investment even when there are disruptions of democratic structure,” the statement added.
