Abia PDP Reacts to Kano Court Judgement

The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that it did not institute any case against the Governor-Elect of the state, Alex Otti, at the Federal High Court in Kano. The party, however, confirmed in a press release issued by Elder Amah Abraham, the State Vice Chairman, that it is studying the content of the judgement, allegedly filed by Ibrahim Haruna-Ibrahim which granted his prayers.

The PDP is currently challenging Otti’s victory in the Election petition tribunal, seeking to recover its stolen mandate via all legal options presented at the tribunal. The special adviser to Otti on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, had earlier accused the Abia State Government and the PDP of sponsoring and promoting fake and misleading stories about Otti’s mandate during a press conference on Friday.

Abraham urged the PDP family and Abians at large to remain calm, confident that justice would be served at the end of the day. The party will remain focused on exploring legal means to reclaim the mandate allegedly stolen from them during the election. All well-meaning individuals and the relevant government institutions should cooperate to ensure a just and democratic society.
