Peter Obi and Labour Party to present 50 witnesses to prove petition against Tinubu’s election

The Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) will hear from no fewer than 50 witnesses as Nigerian politician Bola Tinubu faces a petition from the Labour Party (LP) and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi. The challengers dispute Tinubu’s election, and say they require seven weeks to present their petition – including time for evidence from “star witnesses” who will be allotted 30 minutes each for electronic evidence, according to LP counsel Awa Kalu SAN. INEC, which conducted the vote, will call five witnesses to support Tinubu’s election. The case continues at the PEPC in May.
