The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has announced that its revenue increased by 16.9% from N1.76 billion in 2021 to N2.06 billion in 2022. The institute also revealed that its net assets and operating surplus had risen by 7.3% and 4.9% to N6.66 billion and N837.94 million, respectively, during the same period.

This announcement was made during the CIBN’s 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday. The President of CIBN, Mr Ken Opara, lauded the Institute’s progress, stating that it had achieved significant growth despite macroeconomic challenges in 2022.

Mrs Mojisola Bakare-Asieru, the National Treasurer of CIBN, also disclosed that the Institute’s revenue generation had increased to N2.06 billion from N1.76 billion in 2021. “The total revenue generated for the year ended 31st December 2022 increased to N2.06 billion from the N1.76 billion figure recorded in 2021, increasing by 16.92 per cent,” she stated.

The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria was founded in 1963 and is the umbrella body for all professional bankers in Nigeria. The institute’s mission is to raise ethical standards and professionalism in the banking industry in Nigeria.
