The annual Dozy Mmobuosi pre-season Super Cup competition, organized by the Nigeria Premier Football League, is set to feature eight participating teams instead of twelve, in a bid to sustain the competition’s tempo.
The decision aims to ensure a more concentrated display of skills, intensified competition among top-rated teams, and enhanced fan experience, according to a statement from the organizers.
The statement indicated that the NPFL is committed to delivering a thrilling and unforgettable Super Cup experience while contributing to the development of the football infrastructure.
The Shooting Stars emerged as winners of the maiden edition of this pre-season tournament, previously contested by twelve teams.
