APM to Call Single Witness in Tribunal Petition Proceedings

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has declared that it would only present one witness to testify in its petition at the Presidential Election Petition Court, and this witness would require three days to testify. According to Mr. Shehu Abubakar, the counsel to APM, the star witness’s evidence-in-chief would span 20 minutes, cross-examination would take 25 minutes and re-examination would be rounded up in five minutes.

Documentation to substantiate each party’s position has been exchanged between the parties, says Mr. Abubakar. Meanwhile, the party’s position report is substantially agreed on by the APC, which posits that it would call one witness to testify via five days.

On its part, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has slated one day to prove its case. The other respondents, including Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, would present three witnesses, while Kabiru Masari’s counsel informed the court that it would call one witness and require one day to state his defense.

The court is expected to rule on Tuesday the verdict of the matter.
