Former West Ham striker predicts Kovacic’s move to Manchester United

Former West Ham United striker, Frank McAvennie, has predicted that Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic is on his way to Manchester United this summer. McAvennie also stated his belief that the Croatian would be a great asset to Red Devils’ boss, Erik ten Hag.

With Chelsea aiming to reduce their squad size to balance their books, Kovacic has been speculated to leave Stamford Bridge. The 29-year-old has just 14 months left in his contract, and Manchester United are said to be keen to take advantage of the situation and sign him.

When questioned about whether Chelsea would be willing to allow a first-team player to join one of their Premier League rivals, McAvennie responded, “You have got to get the number of players down to 25. Chelsea have got to get that sorted soon. I can see it, though. Kovacic is going to Manchester United. He is a decent player, and I really think he would do well there.”

Kovacic, a World Cup semi-finalist with Croatia, has been an integral part of the Chelsea team since joining the club in 2019.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will make a move for the midfielder, but with McAvennie’s prediction, speculations of the transfer will continue until the transfer window closes.
