Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has commissioned 45 rural electrification projects aimed at enhancing socio-economic activities in different communities across the state.
The Governor made this known while commissioning a rural electrification project in Kpengwa community, Kohov, Shangev-Ya in Kwande Local Government Council. He highlighted that rural development and the provision of electricity were crucial to enhancing economic activities and elevating the standard of living of rural dwellers.
Governor Ortom directed his Commissioners from the respective communities to commission the projects before the expiration of his administration in a few days. He reiterated his commitment to execute his mandate for the people of the state until his tenure was over. In addition, the Governor also announced the recruitment of more teachers to fill up existing vacancies and reinforce the teaching service in the state.
The Chairman of Kwande Local Government Council, Hon. Orjiir Gbande, and an indigene of the area, Chief Emmanuel Viashima, expressed appreciation to the Governor for the project and stated that it had made life more comfortable for the people in the area.
This feat underscores the Governor’s dedication to bringing about meaningful development to Benue State. With rural electrification projects and other progressive programmes, Governor Samuel Ortom has shown that he is focused on delivering on his promises to the people of Benue State.
